Thank you for sharing. I prefer zucchini raw. I like to put it in my overnight oats, but I also put it in my cooked oat. It doesn't really have a taste, and it adds extra fiber. I also like to dip raw zucchini in hummus. I do, however, like steamed yellow squash and steamed cabbage. No one else in my family likes either one.

I’m 63 and vegan for 8 years. As a senior citizen, I order most non-perishables like canned goods, etc. from Amazon. I do so to prevent having to transport and carry a bunch of heavy items. Those heavy items get delivered to my door. I also use Instacart and other delivery services. When I actually go to the supermarket, I only pick up a few items, items that are lightweight and easy to carry. As an older person, it is important to know these resources to get food so that, if one lives alone, one can manage getting groceries without needing to ask relatives or friends to help transport and carry heavy foods into the house.

Greetings from Pennsylvania. You can dehydrate lime peels or any citrus fruit peels and then grind them up into your smoothies. That way, all of the fruit is utilized. You can mix the dehydrated peels in with the smoothie at the time of preparation or put the peels in a grinder like a coffee grinder to make a powder out of them first and then add the powder to the smoothie.

I spray my vegetables with hydrogen peroxide and white vinegar. Have a separate spray bottle for peroxide and vinegar. Spray with peroxide, then follow with vinegar. Actually, it doesn't matter which one you spray with first, but you can't mix the vinegar and peroxide in one bottle. I let the veggies sit in my sink a few minutes, then rinse off and dry. I got this information from a study that was done at the University of Virginia.

These molds can only grow within a narrow range of pH, and the vinegar makes the berries a little bit too acidic for the mold. What I do, is just spray the berries with vinegar and set them into a container lined with the paper towel.

We all sat at the table to eat our meals when I grew up...for all meals. I like where we all are there together and interact. I tried to continue the tradition while our daughter grew up. For the most part we managed to eat some meals together (3 of us), but because my husband had shift work that changed every 3 months to different hours, a lot of time it was our daughter and myself eating together at the table. I think that is really important...sharing our time together! Love your salads by the way....beautiful, healthy and Good!!

Hey Tami and Tom, this was pretty impressive. I can’t believe how much you put in the salad and that you and Tom have such varied salads and tastes. More prep work though. I noticed you aren’t adding dressing on top, but you did dress the chopped salad part with flavored vinegar? I tend to douse with more dressing. I guess by using vinegar on greens then you can taste the other ingredients more?

    • @NutmegNotebook
